Projects and Collaborations
The culture of collaboration and partnership is essential at CGD. We are eager to partner with other companies, researchers, and universities who are open to discussing or developing ideas on GaN technology in a collaborative, mutually beneficial environment.
Past and Current Projects
CGD Leads the European funded GaNext project
The project involves a consortium of 13 partners from both academia and industry, and aims to design and develop highly efficient, compact prototypes of next generation GaN power modules for low and high power applications.
G-Sound: GaN Chips for Class-D Audio Amplifiers
CGD investigates GaN transistor modules for audio-applications.
GaNSense: GaN-on-Si Sensing Platform
Two micro SMEs, one large company, and the University of Cambridge formed a dynamic consortium to exploit the project’s commercial outcomes.
CGD and ICeData project
Following the success of the ProGaN project supported by the U.K. department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), CGD was awarded further funds from BEIS and the Energy Entrepreneurs Fund (EEF) for a new project, ICeData to demonstrate and bring to market an efficient GaN power IC for data centre applications, contributing to more than 5M tons saving of CO2 yearly over the next decade.
